Front Desk Rotation Intern/Trainee:

During your program you will be able to learn and develop the required skills to manage the front desk area, including guest check-in/out process, maintaining data on in-house guests, tracking reservations, special requests, and answering guest calls.

You will be assisting our managerial team and other departments with the daily operation of the hotel following the systems and procedures required by brand specific standards.

- The participant will : -Learn the property history, its position in the market, core values, policies and standard operating procedures. -Roles and responsibilities of the rooms division as a whole, and how the department contributes to the hotel's success. -Familiarize him/herself with the daily cadence of the rooms division's operations, its managers and colleagues who the participant will be training with. -Assist the participant in completing the required documentation for new staff members.
- The participant will Acquire knowledge of rooms management systems, interdepartmental communication and interpersonal skills. -Participate in Inventory and Ordering as needed and coordinate with Guest services to accommodate special requests and needs -Learn scheduling, management of rooms division staff; The participant will generate reports and daily operational tasks for the upkeep and turnover of occupied hotel rooms.
- The participant will learn skills on how to offer proactive service by anticipating guest needs. Enhance written and verbal communication skills through direct contact with guests. Further development of organizational and people skills to build on culture. Reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail. The participant will learn the complete cycle of a reservation from the moment the telephone rings to when the guest checks out. The participant will learn the company's sales initiatives, strategies, and procedures. The participant will be able to Identify and learn the operation of core rooms operations of a hotel to include 'At Your Service'.
- The participant will Learn: -Operational and supervisory methodologies for effective management of the front desk operations -Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. -How front desk operations and occupancy reports determine staffing, purchasing and forecasting for all other departments within the hotel. - Answer the telephone and quote room rates as well as learn and assist with booking sell out nights; process room lists and guest confirmations

The perfect candidate is

- Hospitality Management Diploma and/or previous experience in hotels and customer service experience. - Highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced changing environment. - Excellent communication skills. Ability to convey information and ideas through writing, telephone and personal meeting situations - Must poses a passion to serve. - Skilled at establishing effective relationships with customers and internal partners - Must have a good work ethic, be honest and work well with others.

Housing information

Participant arranged Housing Leads provided +- $440 - $452 Per person per month Host Company will provide accommodation at the hotel for 7 days at no charge. Participants will be required to secure their own housing for the duration of the program during this time. Meal Plan is $1 per day.
