Rooms Division Intern-
During your program you'll be rotating around different Room Division areas including Front Desk and Rooms Super visor.
Your responsibilities include:
-Monitor and analyze Rooms Inventory
-Process and handle group rooming lists, reservations, and associate reservations requests
-Greeting and registering the guest providing outstanding guest service during their stay and settling the guest's account upon completion of their stay.
-Handle requests for information mail and messages in an efficient and courteous manner.
-Answer guest inquires about hotel service facilities and hours of operation.
-Answer inquiries from guests regarding restaurants transportation entertainment etc.

* PHASE 1 - Gain a clear overview of the host company’s operations, clientele, and niche in the marketplace. The exchange visitor will learn the scope of the host company’s activities, the history, organizational mission and objectives as well as the significance of the divisions and departments and their responsibilities in the success of the organization. The exchange visitor will begin acclimatizing to the US with the help of mentors and colleagues and learn about the differences and similarities of life in the US.
** PHASE 2 - The exchange visitor will develop skills in handling guest's requests and concerns as well and making sure that they have an enjoyable stay. Develop proficiency in the property’s. Effectively multi-task in the PBX switchboard area so that calls can be routed and the 2 -way communication radios are managed at the same time. This area will challenge the exchange visitor to be knowledgeable of all facets of the hotel and who works here. Additionally: -Attention to detail -Excellent organizational skills -Conflict resolution -Coordinating with other departments - Making and modifying reservations -Check in/registration process and procedure -Check out/settlement process and procedure -Professional welcome and greeting -Advanced interpersonal skills -PMS system -Providing accurate information and directions -Facilitate daily functions -Respond to special requests -Understand and address all complaints -Answering switchboard and directing calls accordingly -Complete knowledge of property, history and amenities -Upselling guest rooms and promoting resort services -Maintain a clean and neat front desk area
*** PHASE 3 - The exchange visitor will learn the procedures for bed make-up and linens. - Learn lost and found procedures. - Learn how to coordinate turn down reports. Master amenity placement: Understand check out and occupied service procedures. - Learn status checking procedures. - Understand coordination of room cleaning assignments. Understand the linen pars and inventory procedures: Master walk through procedures. - Developing Effective Leadership Skills. Mastering skills in Handling Customer Complaints: - Understanding the importance of interdepartmental communication and cooperation. - Understanding how to complete required reports. - Developing skills in supervising staff. - Learning how to schedule staff. - Learning how to follow and ensure adherence to policies and procedures pertinent to a supervisor and their team.
**** PHASE 4 - Continue to develop in-depth knowledge and enhanced skills at the Front Office Department – including familiarization with supervisory and management duties.

-College course work in related field such as Hospitality/Hotel Management -Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. -Possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests. -Demonstrate the ability to multi-task be detail-oriented and be able to problem solve in order to effectively deal with internal and external customers. -Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly. -Must work well in stressful high pressure situations. -Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace

Waltham is also home to Brandeis University and Bentley University. The City of Waltham has been frequently called "watch city" because of its association with the watch industry. Waltham Watch Company, a revolutionary cotton textile mill situated along the Charles River, opened its factory in Waltham in 1854 and was the first company to make watches on an assembly line. The company produced over 35 million watches, clocks and instruments before it closed in 1957, and would prove to be a milestone in the American Industrial Revolution
